How to Access Foscam Wireless IP Camera From an iPhone, Android, & Internet (HD)

Thanks for Subscribing! How to Access Foscam Wireless IP Camera From an iPhone, Android, & Internet (HD) Foscam FI8910W product link amzn.to Foscam FI8918W product link amzn.to Foscam FI8608W product link amzn.to **UPDATE 5/30/2012** Foscam has released a Firmware to support the DNS Server No-ip. This is great news because No-IP offers free accounts for personal use. Firmware version: System firmware version: 11.22.2.46 Web UI version: 2.4.10.2.001 A couple of my subscribers pointed out that DynDNS.org may have stopped offering free accounts. Slashdot.org reported something similar. tech.slashdot.org I see Free listed on Dyn’s website but I think they want you to first sign up for a free trial of their out their VIP (aka paid) program for 14 days. Afterward, I suspect you can cancel the paid service and stick with the free account. The hostname will expire every 30 days but you get 1 hostname to use. This link compares the Free User vs VIP User. dyn.com If you don’t want to try out Dyn’s VIP service, you can still use No-ip’s Free service. www.no-ip.com Motorola SBG6580 Port Forwarding portforward.com www.AwkwardHamster.com Follow on Twitter or Facebook. http www.facebook.com Awkward Hamster “Awkward Hamster” AwkwardHamster New Foscam FI8910W FI8918W FI8608W Wireless IP Camera Webcam Baby Video Monitor iPhone Android Microsoft Windows PC iOS Mac Review Install Howto How to how-to “how to” Night Vision IR Cut IR-cut Motion Sensor Detection Alarm Security Record Recording

Can you do a video how to setup the fi9820w and do a review on it please. Thanks so much

  2. AwkwardHamster says:

That will work. You only need the software to find the IP address of the Foscam when it’s plugged into your network at home. All the setup is done on the web browser.

I am getting the foscam fi9820w very soon. But I have a small windows laptop that does not have a cd drive for the foscam setup you need a cd drive. But can I put the cd in my friends laptop then from his laptop pit it on a USB stick and transfer the setup files from the USB stick onto my computer? Would that work?

thanks for the video, but its still not working for me. is it really a must to do port forwarding because that seems to be the trouble i am having. i’m using the fi9820w model though.

I went through many steps in this video. One of the last steps was to create a DDNS host name. It’s optional but useful. It’s like using your IP address to connect to your home webcam from the iPhone. Instead of memorizing your IP address, which can change at anytime, you would memorize a DDNS host name. This DDNS host will redirect the traffic to your home IP.

  6. Liamjarviss says:

What do you mean what is DDNS service?

  7. AwkwardHamster says:

Yes. I browsed the settings in FI9820W and it has these parameters, and more. I purchased the FI9820W recently and they included 3 years use of a DDNS service.

Will this setup work with the camera fi9820w? Thanks

Hi. Did you set up port forwarding on your router? That’s likely why you can’t view it outside your home.

Your video is great and really clear, but I use No-ip and I can’t see the camera out of my home with my tablet or with my android phone. Can you help me please ?

Hi! I was wondering if you could show or explain how to attach camera to a ceiling. I also would like to do this without screws – like with tape or sticky Velcro. I don’t know if this is possible! Please help. Thanks :)

Hi my dear friends, same like everyone i have problems setting my cam, iv setup a free domain on no ip , and set my port as 85 and linked it with the router. IS it so that i can’t access my camera from the host names iv got from no ip when i am in the same network. I have also tried to access them in other networks but there too they don’t work . Please please please if you could help me.

So far your video has helped alot, and I thank you. But now when I goto my no-ip address it asks me for my username, and password. When I watch your video I don’t see that you need to do so. When i’m at that screen thats asking for my user/password, no matter what I enter it doesn’t work. I try my no-ip user/password, and my home wireless user/password with no success. Can you tell me what i’m doing wrong? Thanks

Connections coming from the outside can’t all use port 80. For example, internetIP:8090
interIP:8091, InternetIP:8092. Then on your router, I’ll create 3 port forwarding rules.
Rule for 8090 will be all traffic from 8090 will goto 192.168.0.100:80. And so on for the other 2 cameras.

  21. keithsteffanus says:

I went back to my router. If I put the port as 80 and then enter the crib camera’s # into the 192.168.0.XX- it pops right up. If I go back and put the port for the downstairs cam in place of the crib cam on the router, it pops up. Same for the downstairs cam. Question: How do I port forward to the three cams all using the same port “80″ or can/ can’t you?

  22. keithsteffanus says:

I went back and used a single IP Address for all three Foscams. I connected them to my router/wireless from Time Warner Cable. Watched your first video and set them up accordingly so that they worked both wired and wirelessly. Everything works in network. On my iphone I downloaded the Foscam App. I still can’t see but one of the three cameras. Their ports are 90, 91, and 92. The Crib camera always pops up even when I change its port. Do you think it is a port forwarding problem or port #

  23. AwkwardHamster says:

If you want, you can send me a screen capture of what you have set up on the router and Foscam basic network settings page. Also include your IP address from whatismyipdottcom and mention your youtube username. and send it to awkwardhamster atttgmaildotcom

I spoke too soon. It works perfectly on the WiFi at home but when I went out today I tried to access the cam and got an error message saying the camera was on a private network and wouldn’t work. Can you give me any pointers please?

  25. AwkwardHamster says:

Glad it worked out for you.
