I’ve been able to transfer my Yahoo mail to Gmail, but the Yahoo folders
didn’t transfer. Any suggestions how to do this?

And I got to say that When I tried doing the same thing with my Hotmail it
worked perfectly but it doesn’t work with Yahoo mail. Help needed!!

    I recently set-up someone’s email using Comcast. Use the ‘Add a POP3′
settings box instead of ‘import mail and contacts’. Let me know if this
    helps.

When I go to my Gmail and try to do what you just did after I type in my
email and password it gives and error which says “Could not validate this
combination of email address and password. If you are sure your password is
correct, sign in to your other mail provider to confirm and complete any
necessary captchas or image verification tests and then try the import
again.” But when I go to my Yahoo mail I cant see anything about it + I
know that I’ve typed in a right password. Please help!!

@alitaghikhani Look at your old email and see if there are any emails
greater than 30 Mb in size. Delete those emails and try importing again. In
regards to your blackberry, I don’t think so. Because Gmail will be
deleting emails from the McGill server once they are forwarded to your
gmail (so that your McGill inbox doesn’t fill up), syncing your blackberry
to the McGill server will show you nothing. Hope this helps!

Apparently Yahoo caught on to this method, and blocked it. I’m currently
investigating other ways to solve this issue for Yahoo users. One thing I’m
looking at is YPOP, but I have yet to test it out.

Just wondering. Is Hotmail interfering in the process in any way? I have
about 20 contacts and their respective emails I want to import into Gmail.
I’ve started the process about 1 month ago and it neatly imported all the
emails from the first contact only, but nothing else.

hey man.. couple questions.. Im importing my mcgill university email
because we have a 200mb inbox limit which is outrageous.. I’m getting this
message Error: Server is unavailable. Server returned error “Line length
exceeded limit: Line too long” also, if i somehow succeed.. how can i
continue to use my mcgill email on my blackberry device if it imported my
gmail account and their servers?? (i have to use the gmail servers, but
want to be able to send emails from my blackberry from my mcgill

    Neil…thanks so much…but before I do this I have a question. When I do
this…will the spam follow this action to my new address?

  16. Shane D says:

Say I have comcast email right now if i migrate it to gmail and my comcast
account is cancelled because of not paying the bill i lose my comcast
email. If i had migrated it to gmail would i still have my email from
comcast in my gmail account? would i have to update my mailing addresses to
    my several accounts?

  17. Eslam Mahmoud says:

okay thx alot but can i do this for a yahoo mail into another yahoo mail ???

  18. neiltoupin says:

@alitaghikhani Just reread your question: you can set up your Gmail account
so that it sends from your McGill account. This is found under the ‘send
mail as’ settings area in Gmail.

  19. garne2t says:

There is no “Accounts and Import” option in Gmail today. Only and
“Accounts” option. So, this video is outdated. Is there a new way to import
    mail?

  20. markd9011 says:

    Comcast.net is not supported….Fuck.

  21. madx80h says:

If anyone has a solution for Yahoo! I’d love to know. I even signed up and
paid the $19.99 for Yahoo! Plus. Still doesn’t work :(

  22. wdfortyplus says:

much appreciation for this video. I have managed to transfer all my
contacts over but not email or folders. I am Yahoo co.uk not .com. any
other way I can transfer all my folders too?

  23. Fusionvisor07 says:

When i try to import it it says ,”Gmail couldn’t identify your POP server.
Please enter your POP server information below.” how do i find the pop
    server? help

  24. Eric Guerron says:

in the “set language, site, time zone” option, there is no longer an option
for YahooAsia. What am i suppose to do now? they only let you pick language
    preferences and time zone.
