I think it’s time to look at the cumulative effect this has on the economy.
Less government spending equals fewer public sector jobs, and a higher
unemployment rate. The private sector, itself reeling from a decimated
consumer base since the housing crisis severely hindered the purchasing
power and consumer confidence of millions, is neither equipped nor able to
make up the difference. So, while I, too, am no fan of the usps’s
incompetence, this move makes worse a hopeless situation.

Call Congress and tell the to vote yes for 2309.

It’s the right of our government to have the finance to keep the post
office from going down into nothing. To just simply not fund is like
letting the whole ship to sink,then trying to at least saving the ship.

The Pension fund that the PO has to do is something that no other company
has to do. Without this law Congress past the PO would have made over a
Billion dollars last year. It is a way for the GOP to make the government
smaller and help destroy unions. If this law was reversed the PO would have
more than enough money to run properly.

USPS. Correct me if I’m wrong, but as I understand it, the USPS receives NO
taxpayer funding. Compare this with Pakistan, a den of thieves currently
“harboring” al-Qaida, which receives BILLIONS in taxpayer funds every year!

@kanserstyx Maybe a little bit but its mostly due to Congress passing a law
that requires the USPS to pre-fund 75 years worth of future retiree health
benefits. They are already funding pensions for workers that have yet to
work for them LOL. No other government agency has to do this. And they over
funded the pension by 50Billion dollars, which the gov. wont give them
back.

I’ve been seeing commercials that the yellow pages are going to be dead in
next 3 yrs as well. The public school system sent home a letter stating all
things that would be obsolete by 2020 & paper in schools was one of the
things listed..PAPER!…Now,the postal service is in threat of going under,
another physical, paper outlet of communication..Ya know why? Cause the
global society is introducing an all digital society within the next
decade. This is a biblical sign of which we can be aware of.

If the USPS was a business (and not government run) it would go bankrupt,
peoples habits would change, and the country would be free of this BS.
Please don’t go on about “jobs”, every government job is a worse drain on
the economy than an unemployed person. The federal government would be just
fine with 1/4 the staff we have now, the out of work government employees
would recover, and soon start to really contribute to a real recovery.

Whats the point of the Postal Service? We can already get letters and pay
bills online. Why not just get rid of it? Packages can be sent via UPS and
FedEx. Mail is so old fashion.

The post office is getting what it deserves. I am old enough to remember
when for many, many years most of the postal clerks in the post office
branches were all arrogant and hostile…so much so that I would dread
having to have any interaction with them. In the last few years they are
practically polishing my shoes, and giving me a manicure when I come
in…well guess what? Too late for that, Have fun working in the private
sector….no union, no health insurance, no nothing

The USPS Reduction-in-Force (RIF) provisions, along with expected
attrition, will likely reduce the USPS workforce by up to 220,000. MODEST
PROPOSAL to the DOD: Approximately 75% of these people are below the age of
50 and would be suitable for use in new “Volkssturm Units” to prepare for
our war with Iran. This would equate to 165,000 combat infantry in nearly
14 divisions, based on 12,000 personnel per division. Proposed title:
Forced Redeployment for Freedom (FRF). Resource re-utilization!

@LiquidZ2k You may not realize this but Congressional retirement is a
pretty fat calf ! They get as much as when they were “working”. They are
making a killing off of the taxpayers ! They vote themselves raises and
then cut a fat hog from Wall Street Inside Trading. Our Government IS the
1% and they are cleaning out the store ! The real Crash is coming very soon
and most of the 1% has already off shored their cash (gold) and are heading
for their private jets.
