1940s US Postal Service Corner Mailbox

Kick Ass!!!! In 1973 I was 5 years old and I remember my Mom making lunch and sending me with a few envelopes – to the corner on the far side of the dead-end…

My 10 year old found one of these buried in my backyard!! I would LOVE to
have it refinished JUST LIKE THIS….in Red, White, and Blue!!

If you listen he asked HOW he wanted it painted, and the customer wanted
red white and blue….not green. Gotta make your customers happy!!

The old man in this video is incorrect! This mailbox was not painted red,
white and blue. They were a dark olive green. I think they were repainted
in the mid to late 60s!!! In the video the bottom is green and the green
was also revealed in the scraping on the top. What was Rick thinking? As I
recall the lettering may have been a deep gold or dark green. Maybe it was
    just sprayed for cost effectiveness????

Guess I’m just showing my age…. I remember when stop signs were not red,
also. Do you remember what color they were????
