It can be disabled. Yes, it can record to a network drive through the use
of a computer or a supported NAS.

hi , Thanks for all the informative Foscam videos. I’m considering buying
this one. Could you tell me if the lights of the led sensors can be
disabled ? Also, can the 9821 be set up to record video to an attached
network drive when it detects motion ? thanks a lot, -Jack

It’s possible but it’s not something I can explain in 500 characters. And
if you have a web designer, they can easily figure it out.

I have a question? I have a website that I want to have a link to this
remote camera on. Can this camera be set up so anyone that clicks on the
link will be able to view the camera? Thanks

I am trying to purchase a webcam for a baby monitor and video monitor. I
currently have the Astak Mole and it is good but pricey for a non-HD
camera. I came across your videos of the 18 vs 10 vs 20 and now the 21
Foscam unboxing. Are you going to do an update for the 10 vs 21? I am
looking at the tests between the two before I make a purchase.

Thanks again for reviewing foscam(s) to show us interested buyers out
there! I am really interested so see the audio performance of this FI
9821W, want to see if it’ll work as a baby monitor. Keep up the good work!

I see in your video on the boxes that Foscam has changed their guarantee
from 2 years (FI9820W) to 1 year (FI9821W). That does not give me a nice
feeling as well….. Decreased guarantee with 1 year.

People keep telling me about Blue Iris. I’ll have to check it out.

The problem with Foscam is they don’t take their customers serious. People
complain and requested for over 1,5 year (see their forums) that Foscam
should add SSL because admin login can be easily captured by hackers. The
second issue is the bright LED’s that let your possible burglars know where
your security cameras are hanging. Foscam (and other “made in China”
clones) uses 840nm LED’s as “nightvision”, instead of proper 940nm/950nm
infrared that can NOT be seen in the dark.

Next week, I’ll post my review of the FI9821W. I just gave away my 10W so
I’ll have to go buy another one to make a comparison video. I’m waiting for
one to go on sale. I’m basically buying it just for a video review so I
rather not pay full price right now.

I just got the 9821. I like it so far. Its not an outdoor cam, but I have
it mounted underneath my carport, so we’ll see how that goes. Blue Iris has
a new companion app for the iphone/ipad that is pretty nice.
