What a fantastically moving spiritual and musical document! I must admit I shed a few tears because my sweet mother (who passed away 2 years ago) loved Elvis and laughed just like Jeanie… Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear Mr Storm and of course the wonderful star interviewee still shining. By the way, great job D.R. Storm. You spoke with Jeanie in that interview in such a warm, personally way that you made it special. Fascinating. (I review albums on No Depression — and I just may review Jeanie’s album to bring it to everyone’s attention again. It should be rediscovered.).

Just tell Jeanie she’s not forgotten. I came to your interview because I own her LP — bought it when it was first released & because I know she sang with another musician I admire Don Nix. I listened to her album recently & discovered your interview. I wanted to know why a voice like hers only made 1 solo album? Someone who sang with & for Elvis is no 2nd string vocalist. Her “Joa-Bim,” & “Like a Road Leading Home,” (wish she sang a duet with Elvis on that) are so excellent — even today.

What a wonderful portrait! In the eighties I got the album Mary Called Jeanie Greene from my sister, and have enjoyed it ever since. I’ve roamed the internet every once in a while to find more nfo on Jeanie, but never found anything, uptil now. Say hi to her from a fan in Amsterdam, The Netherlands! With Love.

Don’t ever think that that is crazy. If that is crazy, then I’ll be crazy right along with you. The very person I owe much of who I am today is my grandfather. I have always had such a soft spot for older generations. And its like you said, “They have so much wisdom”. We are a throwaway society nowadays. It’s in with the new and out with the old. Not me. I not only respect my elders, I cherish them, and the are my role models. Just call me an old soul in a young body lol.

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. Jeanie has such a wonderful story to tell, and it just didn’t seem like any one was interested in trying to preserve it, so I just felt so compelled to do so. I only captured a smidgen of her story. She has so much more than what you see here. I’m hoping that there will be a follow up sometime in the future. Thank you again so much for the wonderful feedback Please take care and God Bless.

I just watched this again and was amazed again at how beautifully you captured the beautiful spirit of this precious soul. In light of her recent health issues it becomes more precious.

You are right finaprcs. Her voice was so unusual an versatile, and sadly under utilized and appreciated. She deserved more attention than she got.

Just beautiful! Nothing wrong with a teary eye for a human, me included. I wish there were more recordings where you could hear Jeanie’s voice… you can see it still trying to burst forth.

Thank you so much for the awesome feedback. Jeanie has so many wonderful sides to her personality, but I just felt I had to end it on a note that was the most important to her. Jesus Christ. Thank you again so much for the wonderful feedback. Please take care and God Bless.

I love this, and I cry when I see it. She has such a bautiful spirit, and I think that you have captured it as well as it could be captured.
