Reverse Hook, Crouch Spin, Forward Hook

I ran across a video by a young lady named Angi, whose channel is named Divine Movement. It was all spins, well lit, with expansive movements and leg extensions that were very basic and very easy to see on the screen. She just spun herself to exhaustion. It was an inspiring video. It seemed like something I could start to do, so I simply tried to do the reverse hook the way she did it. I re-ran the vid ten times and wrote out the steps in the sam yellow steno book I keep by the computer to mark down the moves and time indices on the videos I watch. (That’s how I write the comments, LOL!) I like the way she pivoted into the reverse hook. Likewise, I tried to imitate the arm placements on the crouch spin, I actually walked across the basement from monitor to pole, throwing my arms up, frozen in place, on the pole! Many other ladies have left comments and suggestions for me. A few have sent PM’s. Thank you very much! By the way, dance hoopers, the attempt to build an adult size hula hoop was successful. We used 200PSI black lawn sprinkler tubing and plastic connectors. I sawed the tubing with a cheap hacksaw. We tried measuring the length with a tape measure, but that wasn’t necessary–we just stretched enough tubing out around Laurie’s waist until the Hula Hoop looked “right”, marked it with chalk and cut! The ends are easily softened up with scalding hot water from the kitchen sink–the connectors slide right in! It’s much heavier than a child’s hula hoop. It is a wicked

    @rhett7777gg No, those are just to cover up junk in the basement! I’m not embarrassed at all and I do thank you for watching! /Joel Lessing

    @TheCduquesne: Yes, Mr. Duquesne — if you don’t the commenters on the video, go elsewhere, my friend :) Hurling random insults just makes you look dumb.

    @TheCduquesne Mr. Duquesne, Umm, why do you feel the need to insult someone over a nice comment they made on somebody ELSE’s video? I apppreciate KWalkers nice and supportive comments just as much as I am sure you would appreciate comments on YOUR videos. If you need to insult someone, then insult me personally, not an individual who did not even post the video!

    @kwalker1987 you fucking suck

    Crouch spin is looking excellent! Nice!

    @GenKraid Thank You!

    just let yourself fall back with the reverse spin. no need to jump up and engage so much upper body strength. once my instructor told me that, it was easy peasy from there! i can’t do the crouch spin yet, so thanks for your segment on that, gave me a lot to study!

    @Poledancefan
    BTW, kudos to you for sharing your vid! Good to se all kinds of different people enjoying pole dancing. Not just for strip clubs anymore!

    @kwalker1987 Thanks KWalker! You are absolutely right! Fleur is always sending me PM’s or comments to day “ENGAGE YOUR SHOULDERS!!” lol But it is true…it makes the moves look better and it is safer…

    @Chelskiee1 Thank You, Chelskiee1! Yes, I’m pretty much self taught. I’m probably not good enough to do any real instructional videos. REDKE71 has a nice catolog of basic moves on her channel, and they are even in alphbetical order by the name of the move (I JUST got back from seeing her win the title of Miss Sexy at Nationals in New York!–Karol is AWESOME!!) I use Jamilla Deville’s ART OF POLE lesson DVD’s also. Don’t worry about going for lessons. EVERYONE will be super nice, and a beginner!

    Keep your shoulders down and back…you’re tensing them and carrying all your weight in your shoulders when you lift. Think dancer’s stance…standing tall, back straight, head up, shoulders down and back. If you fix your posture, your back muscles will end up doing a lot of the work, and they are stronger so you;ll get more lift.

    Hi, DmanJohnson! Thank you for watcing and enjoying the video…and I am glad it was entertaining. I rarely watch my older videos…they make me cringe because I was SO TERRIBLE back then, lol! I’m not sure the newer ones are any better…but if they bring humor and laughter…then that is an awesome…and positive thing!

    this is fantastic, no offence to you but it is showing the art of pole dancing rather than a female being classed as a stripper did you go to classes to learn this or just lernt the moves online and copyed them i have a pole and i am really keen to learn some moves so it woud be good if you could do some instructional videos as i am rather to self concious to go to the classes as first i need to tone up and work on my entire body strength well done to you thankyou

    oh that’s some funny shit!!!

    OOPS, sorry…checked out your profile page and I see you are male…well…then GIVE a pole party to your girlfriend…they are an AWESOME gift… And by the way, I see you do guitar covers. I did a Bob Marley and the Wailer’s cover of iImbabwe back a few months. Mine is terrible…we need a good one. Do you do reggae tunes? Unfortunately, my guitar playing is WORSE than my poling! lol…

  21. Poledancefan says:

    LOL, if I were any good and needed a job, I might consider it. But I’m a little too old and unsexy for pole parties! It’s just for fitness and fun. But many of the beautiful, talented women running studios are really hurting bad in the recession…so definitely consider scheduling a party at a studio for a girlfriend’s night out. It is so sad to see the mirrors and pole’s come down in a gym. I have a pole pal in Seattle..she’s heartbroken a year later after losing her studio, her life’s dream.

  22. JENSYACUB says:

    cAN WE hire you for parties? hahaha creepy!

  23. Poledancefan says:

    Thank You!

    I so admire your persistence with the moves, I bet it keeps you really toned up. Would love to see people’s reaction when you tell them how you keep fit. lol. I had terrible trouble convincing people that there is nothing seedy or horrid about poledancing to keep fit and they don’t seem to realise the amount of stamina and strength it takes to do even simple moves. Keep posting the vids, I find them very inspirational. (I’m female by the way, in case you were wondering) :-)

    Thank You!
