Hello Ms. Moreland, how are you doing

(continued) Sorry, youtube doesn’t give enough room to say all you have to say… As I was saying, its not everyday that you meet someone as extraordinary as Jeanie, and yes, I’m guilty as sin for “bragging”. But I always say Jeanie would have been just as much a treasure to me even if she hadn’t had the career that she had…she is just that special. THANK YOU so VERY much for the kind words about my voice. You have no idea how much that means to me especially coming from you. God Bless.

Oh wow…again lol! Yeah, I recognized the name instantly. I went through a huge Elvis phase when I was in high school. I would spend almost thirty minutes a day in the mirror, trying to perfect the “pomp”. I finally outgrew the “fanaticism”, but to this day he still inspires me on so many different levels. Then I met Jeanie, and my life has been different ever since. I have always loved older generations and had so much respect for their wisdom them and I love to hear there stories.

Oh wow! from me… back to you too! lol.I’m caught off guard also! Didn’t expect you to recognize my name! I found YOU by searching for Jeanie! Now to figure out a way to email you. I absolutely want Jeanie’s contact info. I sure hope she remembers me.She is one of the FEW persons/artists that if you met for just a brief moment, left an indelible mark on you. “Unforgettably special”. And by the way, your voice is luscious. What a beautiful “velvety” quality, D.R.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! You’ll have to forgive for me for being a little caught off guard, but I did a double take when I saw the name lol! Jeanie is such a precious gift to this world who never got the recognition she deserved. She has such a wonderful life story that I feel so many people are missing out on, and I felt it had to be documented in some form or another. I’ll send contact information if your interested. I KNOW she’ll LOVE to hear from you.

Thank you for this! I sang with Jeanie at Stax on Elvis’ records. Have been looking for her for years, to say hi and tell her how much in awe I still am of her as a person, and as one of the greatest Voices I have ever heard. She still has the same joyful laugh and spirit. She never failed to inspire all of us, tickle us…Oh, Lord…just to hear her talk with that twinkle in her eyes. She just glowed and lit up the studio. She Was a STAR, IS a star, and forever shall be.

Thank you Pat so much for that wonderful comment. That was so sweet of you to say that. Jeanie is a real treasure. I fell in love with her right from the first “Hello”. You say you are going to visit her in the near future. She will LOVE that. I wish I had the means to visit her more than I do. Thank you again so much for the wonderful feedback. Please take care and God Bless.

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. Greatly appreciated. I tried to piece it together that used some of the lesser known songs that she recorded to show her versatility. She is a severely unsung, and under-appreciated talent. I just got the second part uploaded this afternoon. Don’t forget to take a gander. Thanks for watching. Please take care and God Bless.

Thank you so much for sharing that woodwil. Joa-Bim is my absolute favorite song that she ever recorded. She talks a little bit about this song in the third installment. She started getting emotional when she started talking about Tippy. I finally stopped filming at that point because I felt it would have been distasteful to keep filming her in that state. Thank you again for the wonderful feedback. God Bless.

I could watch and listen to this for hours. Love the patience to let a real story slowly unravel, instead of the fast edit dazzle that seems the norm these days. Jeanie may best be known for her work with Elvis, Percy Sledge and at George Harrison’s concert for Bangladesh but is better heard in songs showcased in this video. Her solo album and other work with Don Nix at Muscle Shoals in the early ’70s was tremendous. Looking forward to parts 2 & 3. And then a second series?!

I know Kip would love to hear this if he were still living…he wrote this song and gave it to Jeanie 2 weeks before his passing.
