So it is a dummy slot for just the serial number but inside is an actual SD slot wired and ready for an SD or 4G card. The slider does nothing though and is not connected to the slot. So it must be a last minute change for some reason just to fill that hole. Hmmmm I cant believe no one has tried to put an SD or 4G card in it yet. (Internally that is!)

I just noticed mine has it as well.. whats interesting is that I just watched a video of someone doing a complete teardown and it had an actual SD slot inside the device. Im guessing those posting the ATT comments must be right.

It’s not a aim card slot my dad has a 16 gb model an it does not have a slot inside to fit one it’s just the serial numbers

LOL you are funny… I own a white 64GB model that is ONLY WiFi. The said slot is strictly a place to put the serial numbers so they are not all over the back of the device. I also have a 32GB 4g model and that is where the sim goes but notice there is no”trey” for a sim on your door.As to it showing a carrier in the device info that I believe is just lazy computer engineers not removing all the related software between the two devices.My 64GB model is running 1.8Ghz no issues. Highly recommend!

it is an info clip, and that’s not connected with wires, that’s Jr screen, look inside it and turn ur touchpad on and off and you can easily tell, its for info on Jr touchpad and I’m not sure how to check it
