I’m Mark Fucanan. Also known as, “Monkiee Boi” Born in Manhattan, New York. Later moved to Houston, TX where my dance life began. From ages 5 13, I perform traditional/cultural dances both local and state wide. By the time I reached the age of 17, I had learned and become familiar with salsa, merengue, waltz & other types of ballroom. Break dance and hip hop is what I loved most. I practiced constantly in school & at home with friends, while performing with my local dance group (KNUF) & high school team (Cy-Falls). This is the age I started Hip Hop Choreography and haven’t stopped since. =) In 2006, – I became a member of the 2nd Generation of SoReal (SoReal 2) – Trained with SoReal, Marvelous Motion, etc – Won 1st Place at Dance Houston ’06 with Marvelous Motion / SoReal From 2006 2007, – I competed & trained with the FSA (Filipino Student Association) Modern Team from the University of Houston at Goodphil (Statewide University Competition) – Won 1st Place for both years.
