The nearly bankrupt US Postal Service is moving forward with a multibillion-dollar cost-cutting plan that will close nearly 250 mail processing centers, saying on Thursday it can no longer wait as Congress remains deadlocked over how to help. I’ve always said that I’m smarter than the average dipshit and that’s a true statement.
    Take Care Mr. Flower Clown.

I’m smarter then your average clown.

  3. akai454 says:

Totally right, why should the politicians care about the USPS, the USPS doesn’t give campaign contributions and so who’s going to fight for them?
And yeah, the politicians just want to serve their masters for a small pittance of the billions of dollars that they will make for their masters and the possibility for an “Advising” job, after they do their “Stint” in government, for the corporations that they used to “Regulate” while “Serving The People”.

  4. akai454 says:

Yup, yup, every thing You said is true, totally, it’s not just the lobbyists, We need to get rid of the middleman representative system, intelligent people that care are responsible enough vote on the right things ThemSelves. Other people won’t vote because they don’t know how important it is. Take Care Person I hope that things will change in this year of 2012.

Holy fucking’ shit, some one that knows about the PreFunded Retirement trick to bankrupt the USPS, and Yeah, You’re right that the USPS doesn’t use taxpayer money and that it’s a government owned business that is able to fund itself, stay in business, and keep rates low. Wow, not too many people know these things, it’s good to see some one that’s informed. Take Care Person, hopefully 2012 will make a good change.

Sorry to disappoint you, whoever gets in it will be the same. You folks really have to get rid of the lobbyists – if you can’t get rid of them – there will be no change. There will be even more money spend on wars and a lot more bail-outs but Main street will be left handing out bags……

wow bitch. Are you in 1988? just email or text anything you need. Fedex or UPS packages. Fuck the postal service. waste of time and money.

  8. akai454 says:

Uh did You agree with Me that the USPS’s competition with fed ex and ups will make prices more realistic and that without the USPS being there then fed ex and ups can charge any thing they want because they’ll be the only two fish in the pond, We need competition to keep people sane, if the USPS goes down then I guarantee You that all of a sudden fed ex and ups’ prices will skyrocket, because there’s no competition to keep them honest.

THere Ya Go, good to get some support, some one els that knows that the “Phenomenae” of “LOBBYING” on the part of large corporations, does exist, large corporations aren’t PEOPLE.
Good Reply, Thank You, hopefully 2012 will be the year of real change, “Campaign Finance Reform” some investigations and prosecutions, and maybe a system where the People really vote and not elected officicials (middle men).

5.5 billion prefunding of future retirees must stop.

Surely with all the online shopping the postal service is busy enough? I buy pretty much all my DVD’s and book’s off amazon and clothes off brand websites…. anyone got a word on this?

  12. FlowerClown says:

Small towns across the USA will loose their post office, blame the GOP for the stupid 75 pre-funded retirement law. CONGRESS AND THE GOP KILLED THE POST OFFICE. Government makes laws for the post office but the post office takes NO tax payer money.

  13. carteri246 says:

People aren’t using the USPS as much, therefore we need to devote less resources to it. That makes sense to me.

  14. dalecs47 says:

The problem with the post office is 100% artificial and was created by laws imposed on it by the republicans. Why? Because many postal workers are union and it is the desire of the Republicans to destroy all unions. So if your local post office is being closed thank your republican party for it. Had the republicans not passed their post office destroying rules the postal service would have continued serving the public as it always has, and WITH NO TAX DOLLARS SPENT.

    Not to mention GM

  16. CaptainCallidus says:

Why is the post office in such bad shape?
    Politics… of course.
    This is what happened:

First off, why any government employees are allowed to join a union is so unbelievable. Secondly why does anyone think it’s acceptable to work somewhere for 20-25 years and then live another 40-50 years off a “pension”, a pension should help someone retire, not send them to Jamaica every year and pay for a brand new Cadillac. Government pensions are so ridiculous, they are funded by tax revenue from business owners who have to fend for themselves after working hard for 30-40 years. What a joke.

  18. Roonskii says:

The 2006 Postal Act which which obligates the USPS to prefund 75-years worth of future health insurance was passed as a union buster by anti Americans republicans. The USPO is not broke.
republicans fucking American workers every way they can.

  19. awakenchange says:

isn’t this the ONLY thing the government is supposed to be doing?
    WAKE-UP, STAND-UP and SPEAK-UP!

  20. astronato says:

Of course public sector unions contribute to politicians. What a load of shit you spew.

  21. Frankenputer says:

Here is the one real reasons the USPS is going bankrupt..

8oz (Half Pound) From The White House to the L.A. Times
    With equivalent delivery times…..

UPS 2nd Day Air from Washington. DC to Los Angeles CA $28.82
FedEx Home Delivery® Washington. DC to Los Angeles CA $11.98
Priority Mail® Window Flat Rate Envelope $5.15

Did you know it costs more to deliver a letter than a First Class Stamp Costs?

Rates, Benefits and Pension all Set By Congress
Politicians should not try to do business. .

  22. fliegeroh says:

There isn’t exactly a groundswell of popular support to bailout the post office, anymore than there was to bailout the banks. Politicians gauge the popular opinion carefully and their isn’t much positive sentiment for the USPS.

  23. fliegeroh says:

Are you telling me that government unions don’t contribute to democrats? You’re a liar.

  24. fliegeroh says:

Some here are commenting that the Post Office is the people’s protection from evil capitalism. But my impression of the Post Office over 50 years is that of a “laid back”, “uncaring”, “why hurry” kind of outfit that made everbody hate them. If fact, if it wasn’t for the competition provided by UPS and FedEx, I think Postal rates would be even higher than they are. The PO was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. It’s time they competed right back.

  25. hank220 says:

The goverment does not give a shit about jobs in america.
